💨 Abstract
South Africa has achieved over 300 consecutive days without load shedding, a significant milestone for its electricity system. Eskom, the national power utility, attributes this to improvements in its generation fleet and a consistent Energy Availability Factor (EAF) above 65%. Unplanned outages have decreased by 53%, and diesel usage at Open Cycle Gas Turbine (OCGT) plants has dropped by 57.35%.
