💨 Abstract
South Africa's Department of Home Affairs has opened two new service centres in Sydney and Melbourne to help South African expats with Smart ID and passport applications. This initiative, part of the "Home Affairs @ Home" program, aims to reduce processing times from over a year to just five weeks. The move follows successful trials in the UK and responds to the frustrations of South Africans living abroad.
