💨 Abstract

In Johannesburg, authorities arrested over a dozen undocumented migrants during a raid in Sandton's Ginger Informal Settlement. The operation, led by the City of Johannesburg and the Department of Home Affairs, aimed to enforce municipal by-laws and dismantle illegal structures. Mayor Dada Morero emphasized the intent to curb crime and illegal settlements, with plans for further raids. Residents welcomed the move. Additionally, the operation addressed the sale of nyaope in the area.
