đź’¨ Abstract
A new bird flu outbreak has been confirmed in Western Cape, South Africa. The virus, detected in farmed ducks near Paarl, has led to voluntary culling of chickens by farm owners. Wild birds, including Great White Pelicans and Hartlaub’s Gulls, have also been affected. Authorities urge the public to avoid contact with sick or dead birds and to report suspected cases. Poultry farmers are advised to enhance biosecurity measures.
