💨 Abstract

Cape Town has set a new winter water-saving target of 860 million litres per day, down from the summer target of 975 million litres, as dam levels drop to 45.9%. Despite a decrease in water demand, usage remains above the new target. Officials warn that if high usage continues and rainfall is below average, restrictions could be implemented before the end of the year.
