💨 Abstract
South Africa has received its first shipment of Lenacapavir, a new twice-yearly HIV prevention injection. The country received 37,920 doses, which are expected to expand protection options for vulnerable groups like adolescent girls, young women, sex workers, and gay men. Health Minister Dr. Aaron Motsoaledi welcomed the development, stating it will strengthen efforts to end AIDS as a public health threat by 2030.
