💨 Abstract
The Department of Home Affairs office in Paarl, South Africa, was temporarily closed after a staff member was bitten and assaulted by an enraged client on July 23. The incident began when a male visitor became verbally aggressive upon refusing to submit required documents. He attacked another client before biting a female Home Affairs employee. Police were called, and the suspect was arrested. The closure disrupted essential services such as ID applications and travel documents, leaving residents with urgent needs in limbo.
