The South African Police Service (SAPS) has issued a warning about an ongoing scam involving fake letters and phone calls. Scammers impersonate police officers, using the SAPS logo and genuine details of senior officers and police stations. They send personalized, location-specific messages via WhatsApp and make phone calls, claiming that criminal cases have been opened against the victim.
