💨 Abstract
The Democratic Alliance (DA) has raised alarm over the theft of over 3,400 South African Police Service (SAPS) firearms between 2019 and 2024, with many lost due to negligence, theft, or robbery. The DA claims these weapons fuel violent crime and highlight SAPS mismanagement. They oppose the Firearms Control Amendment Bill, arguing it unfairly targets law-abiding citizens while criminals remain armed.
