In South Africa, nine people were killed and ten wounded in a tavern shooting in Bekkersdal township near Johannesburg. This incident, which made international headlines, is the second such attack this month. The gunmen, armed with pistols and an AK-47, randomly shot patrons and stole their valuables. The country faces high crime rates, often driven by organized networks and gangs, with frequent shootings and a high murder rate.
