đź’¨ Abstract
Nigerian universities have lowered the minimum admission age to 16, effective for the 2025 academic year. This move, announced by Education Minister Dr. Tunji Alausa, aligns academic readiness with cognitive development. The policy, enforced through the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS), aims to prevent age falsifications and ensure a fair, inclusive admissions process, accommodating exceptionally bright students.
