💨 Abstract

Captain Ibrahim Traoré, Burkina Faso's leader, has become a symbol of resistance against Western influence. He gained power in a 2022 coup due to severe security issues and national frustration. Traoré has been criticized by Western powers for expelling French troops and seeking alternative allies, including Russia. Despite facing challenges, he remains popular for introducing social welfare initiatives and advocating for African sovereignty. His leadership has sparked fears in the West, leading to at least 19 assassination attempts.
