Kenyan marathon world record holder Ruth Chepngetich has been banned for three years after testing positive for the banned diuretic hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ). Initially denying any knowledge of the substance, she later claimed she took her housemaid's medication after falling ill, an explanation deemed "hardly credible" by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU).
