💨 Abstract
Alan Hatherly successfully defended his elite men’s cross-country title at the 2025 UCI Mountain Bike World Championship in Switzerland. The South African, a Paris Olympic bronze medallist, capitalized on rival Victor Koretzky’s mistake to seize the lead and dominate the race. Italy’s Simone Avondetto finished nearly a minute behind in second place. Hatherly credited his victory to a strong, time-trial-focused strategy, maintaining his lead despite fatigue.
