💨 Abstract
Cape Town's Noon Gun, located at Lion Battery on Signal Hill, fires daily at noon, except on Sundays and public holidays. This tradition, dating back to 1806, involves two 18-pound cannons, making it one of the oldest working guns in the world. Originally used to alert ships and for wartime commemoration, the cannons are now fired to mark the passage of time.
