💨 Abstract

Four Ngqushwa municipal officials were jailed for stealing over R273,000 intended for a Christmas party for the elderly in Peddie, Eastern Cape. The officials, including the former municipal manager and acting CFO, were sentenced to three years in prison or a R120,000 fine. The fraud was uncovered by auditors and investigated by the Hawks, leading to their arrests in 2021.
