💨 Abstract
South Africans traveling to Europe need to be aware of the new Entry/Exit System (EES), which tracks entries and exits from the Schengen area. This system, operational since April 2026, records facial images and passport details, replacing traditional passport stamps. South Africans, who still require a Schengen visa, will have their fingerprints taken during the visa application process, eliminating the need for advance registration.
