💨 Abstract
The South African passport has moved up one spot to rank 47th globally, according to the Henley Passport Index for 2026. However, it now offers visa-free access to 100 destinations, down from 101, after losing access to the Falkland Islands. The index ranks passports based on visa-free travel destinations, using data from the International Air Transport Authority (IATA).
