💨 Abstract
A Mozambican man, Gustigu Mthini, was jailed and will be deported for killing a protected Spotted Eagle Owl on the Sea Point Promenade in Cape Town. The incident, captured on video, showed Mthini brutally beating the owl with a stick, leading to its death. The SPCA and Sea Point City Improvement District collaborated to arrest and convict Mthini, sending a strong message against animal cruelty.
