💨 Abstract
A participant in the 2025 Slave Route Challenge in Cape Town tragically died when a tree fell on her in the Company’s Garden area. Emergency services rushed to the scene but the runner succumbed to injuries at the hospital. The organizers, as well as the City of Cape Town, expressed their condolences and emphasized that they are working to understand the incident, which they described as unforeseeable.
