💨 Abstract
Donald Trump sued the New York Times for $15 billion (R260 billion), alleging a "decades-long pattern" of defamation. He claims the Times deviated from journalistic standards in covering him, writing negatively and not giving him enough time to respond. The lawsuit includes four reporters and publishing house Penguin Random House. Trump seeks compensatory and punitive damages. This is one of several lawsuits he has filed against media outlets. The Times has not commented yet.
