💨 Abstract
Cape Town’s proposed Cape Winelands Airport awaits final environmental approval, with a decision expected by October. If approved, construction could begin, aiming for a 2028 opening. Costing R8–10 billion, the project has secured preliminary funding. The airport, likened to Lanseria International, would serve as a second aviation hub for the city. If greenlit, construction would take around two years.
