💨 Abstract

In the United Kingdom, certain plants may initially seem harmless, however, they can cause significant issues, including structural damage, wildlife harm, and severe penalties, including fines up to £5,000 or two years in jail, under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. Among the problematic plants are the Spear thistle, Broad-leaved dock, Japanese Knotweed, Himalayan Balsam and Giant Hogweed.
