Health authorities in holiday destinations have warned about a new Covid variant, NB.1.8.1, which is more infectious. This variant has been detected in popular travel spots like Egypt, the Maldives, Thailand, and Ireland, as well as in parts of Europe, the US, Australia, and the UK. Thailand, in particular, has seen a significant rise in cases and deaths, especially in Bangkok and Chonburi Province.
