💨 Abstract
A lesser-known insurance grouping system could help drivers secure cheaper car insurance. The system, established by the ABI and Lloyds Market Association, categorizes vehicles into groups (1-50) based on their value, repair costs, and safety features. Lower group numbers are cheaper to insure. Additionally, the VRR system, rolled out in 2024, is set to replace the current grouping by 2027. Car insurance remains a legal requirement in the UK.
