💨 Abstract
Peter Wellman, the last resident of Tyneham, a village evacuated during WW2 and never repopulated, has passed away. Once home to over 220 people, Tyneham became a training camp for allied soldiers in 1943. Wellman recalled happy memories before the evacuation, noting the village's lack of modern amenities. The village remains in ruins on MoD land, open to the public, with some buildings converted into museums.
