💨 Abstract
Rachael Watts, now 42, was seven when she was abducted and assaulted by Russell Bishop, who had previously been acquitted of murdering two schoolgirls. Watts managed to escape and identify Bishop, leading to his conviction for her attack. Years later, new DNA evidence linked Bishop to the earlier murders, resulting in his second conviction. Watts, who had kept her ordeal largely private, has now spoken out, detailing her trauma and resilience.
