💨 Abstract
A 21-year-old British woman, Charlotte May Lee, was remanded in Sri Lanka's harsh Welikada Prison after being caught with £1.2m worth of synthetic drugs. Lee, who denies knowing about the drugs, faces up to 25 years in jail. She alleges a man she met in Bangkok, who awaited her in Sri Lanka, is connected to the smuggling. Lee's conditions in prison are dire, with overcrowding and poor facilities.
