💨 Abstract
Coventry City, led by Frank Lampard, suffered a heartbreaking 3-2 aggregate playoff defeat to Sunderland, missing out on a chance to reach the Premier League. Despite fighting back from a goal down and dominating large parts of the match, a late Sunderland goal in extra time secured their victory. Lampard, visibly emotional, praised his team's performance and congratulated Sunderland but admitted the loss was one of the "cruellest" moments of his career.
