💨 Abstract
Nicki Townsend, a fox rescuer in London, spends her days helping injured urban foxes, which are both loved and hated by locals. Founded by Trevor Williams, The Fox Project rescues around 1,400 foxes annually, addressing issues like car accidents and mange. Despite challenges, Townsend finds joy in releasing rehabilitated foxes back into the wild. Studies suggest that released foxes may face increased risks, highlighting the need for more research on their post-release behavior.
