💨 Abstract
A bottlenose dolphin named Allie gave birth to a healthy calf at Brookfield Zoo Chicago, with the help of an experienced mother dolphin, Tapeko. The birth was successfully recorded by the zoo staff. The calf, estimated to weigh around 35 pounds and stretch nearly four feet in length, is doing well and has already shown natural bonding behaviors like slipstreaming. It will undergo a paternity test and be named later this summer.
