💨 Abstract
Beef prices in the U.S. have surged due to a shrinking cattle herd, driven by drought, reduced breeding, and international factors. The average price of ground beef hit $6.12 per pound in June, an 11.84% increase from a year ago. Beef steaks averaged $11.49 per pound, up 8%.
