💨 Abstract

Native American teenagers from several tribes have completed a 310-mile kayak journey down the Klamath River, which is now navigable after the removal of four hydropower dams. The effort, spanning decades, aimed to restore salmon runs, a crucial resource for the tribes. The youth, prepared through a program called Paddle Tribal Waters, kayaked from the headwaters of the Wood River to the Pacific Ocean, highlighting the environmental and cultural significance of the river.
