💨 Abstract
A manatee, an endangered species typically found in warmer southern waters, was spotted off the coast of Massachusetts for the first time in nearly a decade. Seen in July, the manatee appears to be in a challenging environment, as the region's cold waters and lack of its preferred food sources could lead to health issues. Scientists and rescue teams are prepared to intervene if necessary. Sightings of manatees in New England are rare but have occurred previously, with mixed outcomes.
