💨 Abstract
To reduce U.S. trade deficits and avoid tariffs, Asian countries are negotiating to buy more U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG). This strategy, however, may hinder long-term climate goals and energy security. Countries like Vietnam, Japan, and South Korea have shown interest in securing U.S. LNG, with long-term contracts being a key focus.
