💨 Abstract
The Maryland Transportation Authority plans to complete a new Key Bridge by 2028, with construction beginning in fall 2025. The new bridge will be 260 feet east of the original to avoid obstacles and accommodate larger ships. It will be higher and longer, featuring four lanes with shoulders. The bridge will cost nearly $2 billion and aim to be in service for at least 75 years.
