💨 Abstract
Since its establishment 90 years ago by President Roosevelt, Social Security has faced ongoing funding issues. It currently supports 69 million Americans monthly and, despite bipartisan backing, it's financially threatened. The program's "go-broke date" has recently been moved up to 2034, when it may only pay 81% of benefits. Contributing factors include staffing cuts and legislative changes.
