💨 Abstract

Amani Walker and Joshua Hawkins, both from D.C., found new career paths through a cybersecurity apprenticeship program at the University of the District of Columbia. The program, a partnership with PeopleShores and Accenture, offers paid training and real-world experience. Walker, recovering from an injury, and Hawkins, seeking better financial stability, both aim to improve their families' lives. They are motivated to break generational cycles of poverty and inspire their communities.
