💨 Abstract

The Washington, D.C. area is experiencing one of its most humid summers on record, with over 650 hours of dew points above 70 degrees since June 1. This excessive moisture, caused by high pressure drawing in tropical air and wet ground conditions, creates discomfort outdoors, but has also led to increased rainfall, ending a regional drought. Reagan National Airport's rainfall levels are above average, while Dulles Airport is slightly below average.
