💨 Abstract
The National Transportation Safety Board investigated a January 29 deadly air collision between a Black Hawk helicopter and a passenger jet near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. The hearing focused on training and protocols of air traffic controllers, the Army, and the FAA. Issues raised included lack of proactive supervision, high turnover among controllers, and potential faults in helicopter altimeters. The FAA assured that DCA remains safe, but concerns remain about warnings being missed due to technical issues.
