💨 Abstract
John Lyon, a beloved radio voice in D.C., has passed away at 85. His career spanned 22 years at WMAL, during which time he also dealt with the 1975 disappearance of his daughters, Sheila and Katherine, from Wheaton Plaza. The case remained unsolved for decades until Lloyd Lee Welch pleaded guilty to their murders in 2017. Lyon worked quietly for justice and supported crime victims, always preferring to stay in the background.
