Washington, D.C., set a new world record with 1,435 couples kissing under the mistletoe, surpassing St. Louis' previous record of 480. The event, organized by Downtown DC BID, required couples to kiss simultaneously for five seconds under real mistletoe. Over 6,000 couples registered, and 17,150 mistletoes were ordered.
