💨 Abstract

José Alberto González and his family from Venezuela lived in fear in Denver, avoiding public interactions and relying on WhatsApp for safety alerts. They came to the U.S. for better education for their children and economic opportunities, but after President Trump's election, they decided to return to Venezuela due to heightened immigration fears. Despite living in fear, many immigrant families still sent their children to school, though some schools saw attendance drops due to immigration raids and rumored enforcement actions.
