💨 Abstract
A federal judge refused to block an Alabama law restricting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives and "divisive concepts" in public schools. The law, challenged by University of Alabama students and professors, bans DEI programs and prohibits teaching eight specific "divisive concepts" related to race and gender. The judge ruled that plaintiffs did not meet the criteria for a preliminary injunction.
