💨 Abstract
Greg Iles, the 65-year-old Mississippi author of the "Natchez Burning" trilogy, passed away on August 16, 2025 after a long battle with multiple myeloma. Known for his historical fiction that explored race and class in the Jim Crow South, Iles was celebrated by his literary agent Dan Conaway for his genius, humanity, and moral responsibility.
