💨 Abstract
France is battling its largest wildfire in decades, which has burned over 160 square kilometers in the south. The fire, which started Tuesday in the Corbières massif in the Aude region, has claimed one life, injured 13, and destroyed dozens of homes. Despite cooler temperatures and calmer winds, the fire remains uncontrolled. Investigations into the cause are ongoing. Climate change is exacerbating the frequency and intensity of wildfires in the region.
