💨 Abstract
The European Union imposed sanctions on five businessmen linked to Russian oil companies Lukoil and Rosneft, and four shipping companies involved in circumventing sanctions using a shadow fleet of oil tankers. These sanctions aim to disrupt Russia's oil revenue, which funds its war in Ukraine. The EU also targeted members of Russia's military intelligence agency and a hacking group for cyber attacks, and added foreign policy analysts promoting pro-Russian propaganda to its sanctions list.
