💨 Abstract
In Tokyo, twin pandas Xiao Xiao and Lei Lei, born in 2021, will return to China by late January 2026. Their departure marks the first time in about 50 years that Japan will be without a panda, as strained diplomatic relations with China make securing replacements unlikely. The twins' last public viewing is set for January 25.
