President Donald Trump will honor nearly 100 Purple Heart recipients at the White House, marking National Purple Heart Day. Included are service members who gave Trump their medals following a 2024 assassination attempt. Notable attendees will be Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Veterans Affairs Secretary Doug Collins, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine, and Marine veteran Chris LaCivita.
