💨 Abstract

A study by the University of Maryland School of Medicine reveals that active-duty military members with sleep apnea are at significantly higher risk of PTSD (over four times) and traumatic brain injuries (three times) compared to those without the condition. Sleep apnea, which involves repeated breathing pauses during sleep, is associated with various health issues, including depression, cardiovascular disease, and musculoskeletal injuries.
